I didn't realize it had been a year since I posted here until I looked back at the post list this morning. I apologize for leaving for a year with no warning, but it wasn't planned. However, I can't say I'm sorry for how I've spent the year away from this blog.
So, what have I been up to? Well, first off, I finally managed to publish Surviving Murphy. That was released at the end of November.
Why didn't I come back after that? Well, I got a bit side tracked starting my own business. As much as I love writing, I stand a much better way of making bills that way. So I make bath and body products some afternoons each week, write on the others, and I spend two or three hours each evening either French knitting or crocheting.
But none of that is really why I'm writing today. No, I'm writing because Right of Succession will be serially published starting Monday morning.
I decided to make my novels available free to read online both here and through Contented Comfort's books page as they are published, one post a week. Then after the novels are completed, paperbacks will be made available through the store. There are two reasons for this. First, I didn't want to have to wait years to make good on offering books, other than Surviving Murphy, for my customers when I had at least one edited, revised, and ready to go. And second, I've been working on some of my novels since I was just barely into my teenage years, and I'm a grown woman with a kindergartener and a preschooler now. I'm tired of siting on my work, waiting to be able to commit to writing full time for a publishing house.
The serial format gives me plenty of time to revise, edit, and do a second revision on drafts I already have while the current novel is being published. And once I get through the drafts I have, I will have a chance to take an idea from draft to finished novel while the ones ahead of it are being published. So, if all goes to plan, there will always be something new to read over on the book page come Monday morning.
